Hair Care Tips

Wig care

  • Store your wig in the satin-lined box that it arrived in , a wig stand or a mannequin head to preserve its shape.

  • Preserve the color and texture of your wig by avoiding frequent contact with chlorinated water, seawater and hot water.  If you do,. Immediately wash and condition your wigs afterwards.

  • Do not apply direct heat to the lace; it will damage the material and cause it to shed

  • Lighter hair colours are more naturally delicate and prone to drying than darker hair colours because of additional processing. So blondes and semi-blondes, be extra careful while washing and storing your gorgeous wig.

How do Wash your Al Jamilah Wigs?

Step 1: Pre-wash

You’ll want to use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to gently comb through any tangles. It’s best to start from the bottom and work your way up toward the roots.

Step 2: Rinse

The next step involves getting your lace wig wet. Remember to be gentle with the lace. Place your wig under the faucet and use cool to lukewarm water to fully submerge it. After rinsing, gently remove the excess water with your hands and get ready to shampoo

Step 3: Shampoo

Place a small amount of shampoo into your hands and stroke the hair from roots to ends, Be gentle  when it comes to shampooing

To remove the shampoo, run cool water from the base down to the bottom of the hair. Once you’ve gotten rid of the shampoo and the water runs clear, use a towel to gently blot the hair before applying conditioner.

Step 4: Condition

Now you’re ready to condition. Just like the shampoo, you’ll want to use a wig-approved hydrating conditioner. Work a small dab into the wig, starting at the bottom. Gently comb through the strands with your fingers or a wide-toothed comb, keeping the conditioner away from the base of the wig. You can let most conditioners set for up to 15 minutes but follow the directions on the bottle. Once the time’s up, run cold water from the top of the wig down to the ends of the strands, making sure you fully get rid of all the conditioner before blotting it dry and hanging it to air dry. After your wigs has dried,. You can begin to style as desired.

Bundle Care

  • Always condition your extensions before your install, place the hair under running Luke warm water, and once it is completely wet, add conditioner. Using your fingers to brush through the hair, wash out all the remaining product.

  • Wash your extensions once every 1-2 weeks to keep them moisturized and clean.

  • Avoid using heavy, oily products.

  •  Always use a heat protector before applying heat  your hair.

Lace Closure and Frontal Care

  • Poor application will result in an unrealistic look

  • Over-brightening the knots and scratching will create bald patches in the closure and frontal. Once your closure begins to thin out, it can not be repaired

  • Do not pluck hairs to create a part; this will cause the closure/frontal to thin out prematurely

  • When washing your hair, be very gentle with the lace; rough handling and styling will cause the knots to loosen

  • Do not apply direct heat to the lace; it will damage the material and cause it to shed
